WOODEN BOWL

A turned wooden bowl of low, wide form, the walls gently tapering from a defined rim to a shallow, slightly irregular base. The piece holds the small imperfections of hand turning preserved exactly as they were made. The wood has darkened over generations of use to a deep, uneven tone that shifts from warm amber at the edges to near-black at the base, a patina that accumulates only through decades of handling and cannot be replicated. No finish, no ornament, no marking of any kind. Just wood shaped by a single tool and made better by everything that has happened to it since.
