A large-scale coiled sweetgrass basket constructed in the traditional method . Bundles of dried sweetgrass bound row upon row with strips of palmetto, each coil sewn tightly to the next to build the vessel's generous, globe-like form from base to open rim. The rich amber-brown tone speaks to decades of age, the surface developing a warm, unified patina across its densely stitched face. At this scale, the basket transcends its utilitarian origins entirely — it reads as sculpture, with the rhythmic regularity of its coiling creating a quiet, meditative texture across the whole form.
