STONEWARE CYLINDER VESSEL

A simple upright cylinder, slightly tapered at the foot, with a neat rolled lip at the opening. The form is so reduced it could belong to any century. What places it firmly in the mid-20th century studio tradition is the glaze: a speckled ash tone moving between warm sand, olive, and pale khaki, pooling slightly darker at the base where it has run and settled in the kiln. Semi-gloss and uneven.
