OFFERING COLUMN

A hand-carved wooden offering column of singular, quiet presence, the form turned and carved from a single piece of dense hardwood into a slender stem that rises from a wide base to a shallow cupped platform at the top. The surface is entirely consumed by age, the wood darkened to a near-black tone and encrusted with the residue of decades of ceremonial use all absorbed into the grain.
