WALNUT LOUIS PHILIPPE BUFFET

A solid walnut Louis Philippe buffet of compact, well-proportioned form, the case built entirely from richly grained walnut planks that have deepened over nearly two centuries to a warm amber tone. The characteristic swept cornice, the signature profile of the Louis Philippe style, sits above a bank of three drawers fitted with small brass knob pulls, the center drawer with a diamond-shaped escutcheon. Below, two large paneled doors with matched grain and original ornate brass escutcheons open to a divided interior with a single fixed shelf. The whole is raised on bracket feet. All hardware is original; the interior is clean and intact.
