GOLD LEAF FRAME

A gilt wood frame with a deep reeded and beaded profile, the gilding worn to a warm honeyed brass at the high points where light and hands have caught it over a century. Left empty, it reads as a piece of sculpture in its own right — a ready-made surround for a mirror, a painting, or simply a shape on the wall. A length of wire is already threaded through the back, ready to hang.
