Designed in 1967 for Getama, the GE 671 distills Wegner’s cabinetmaker rigor into a lounge chair that feels both architectural and soft. A solid oak frame, planed to gentle radiuses and eased edges, carries a “floating” seat platform and a rope-laced back. The back rail is drilled through with precise apertures; natural-fiber cord is hand-tensioned in a rhythmic pattern that flexes with the body, giving the chair its signature balance of structure and give. Sculpted arms sweep forward in a single, continuous gesture, terminating in broad paddles that invite a natural rest for the forearms. The proportions are low and generous; the sit is relaxed yet supported, with a subtly reclined pitch that reads as effortlessly modern.
